@ffffelix Has there been a release date for the force-login thing?
@aboynamedboom I had to work *really* hard to work the system/management to guarantee my hours at McDs.
@aboynamedboom Minimum wage in this country causes/attracts unreliability and lack of work ethic in people.
@aboynamedboom Even in childcare, a lot of nurseries won’t offer fixed shifts to staff.
@aboynamedboom Tesco are one of the better ones (set shifts/hours) but other supermarkets, McDs (where my experience is), etc.
@aboynamedboom Because min. wage have inherently bad rates of people phoning in sick, so they counter that by having loads of staff.
@aboynamedboom Huh. We don’t have anything like that here, retail just choose to have ~60 part time instead of ~20 full time.
Blaming Brexit entirely is nonsense, but it’s not going to improve the situation.

So either minimum wage needs to go up or the government needs to step in on the BS zero-hour contracts.
Most places that pay min. wage (retail, etc) won’t give people any amount of hours guaranteed. Much less 40 hours.
The problem with that figure, which is technically achievable on min. wage is you have to guarantee ~40 hours a week.
I had to dig around for a figure of what “adequate income” means in this article. It’s £17k/year or £18k for couple… https://twitter.com/i/web/status/831783172702687232
